Straight Outta Jamaica!When I first tasted Jamaican jerk chicken, it blew my socks off! I asked the cook at the Carribean Grill where it was served for the recipe, showed me a bottle of Walkerswood. Now that's all I use. I tried making it from scratch but there's over 15 ingredients so why reinvent the wheel, just use WW. I began to use so much of WW that I now purchase the larger quantity. I have been sharing my recipe with everyone who has tried my jerk, because they always ask. Needless to say I usually make several batches of jerk monthly and many of my family and friends lives have been enriched by it!5The best Jerk rub on earth straight from Jamaica!The best jerk seasoning on planet earth! There was some oil in the bucket. But the oil is used to preserve the seasoning.I know, because I use to buy this stuff all the time at a local meat market in my city, that is owned by Jamaicans. Best Jerk rub on earth hands down. I can eat this stuff every day!5Huge container. Super hot. Same as in jar.I had no idea this was the HOT variety let alone the huge package size. I didn t realize exactly the same wet product as in the small jars. I had impression that this product was more of a dry rub seasoning.3Authentic Jamaican Jerk SeasoningThis is the best seasoning around. I have used it for YEARS and am often asked if I'm bringing jerk chicken to BBQ's. I do add more "seasonings" when I'm making a batch..lightly cracked whole allspice, fresh springs of thyme, Adobo, seasoned salt, sliced scallions..let it marinate over night and yum. Yes, there is some leaked liquid in the bucket, the seasoning is in a plastic bag inside the bucket with a wrap tied top, the bag is not sealed tight so the thin liquid leaks out in shipping. Nothing to freak out about. I put mine in 16oz mason jars and shared with some friends.5Bucket of loveWhat's better than a 10 oz jar of Jamaican love? That's right, 9 1/2 pounds of it punching you in your taste buds till you can take no more. If you're looking at a bucket of this jerk seasoning I'm assuming you know the product so I'll skip the small talk. The packaging was good, no leaks no problems. Seasoning was in a plastic bag that is zip tied inside the bucket. I didn't reuse the bucket (put in 4 mason jars and in fridge) so I cant comment on anything other than the product, which I can attest is one of the best jerk seasonings out there (Walkerswood just edges out Busha Browne in my book). All in all worth every penny if you can manage to polish off an entire bucket O' jerk.5Authentic Jamaican JerkI have tried a number of products, Jamaican produced and otherwise, and this is without a doubt the best there is.We use it on chicken, pork, shrimp, in hamburgers and a host of other dishes. Can be cut with white vinegar if it's too strong (hot) for some folks. Goes a long way.5Returned, prior used product?I purchased a gallon this product in April of 2019 as I was tired of ordering the small glass jars. I love this jerk paste and the flavor is awesome! I never opened it as I was waiting till summer time when I would be using the grill. I got around to finally opening this gallon bucket (my own fault as now I'm way past the return window) on June 25, 2019. I was severely disappointed. Inside the bucket was a a plastic bag with the jerk paste inside of it. The bag was either opened before and returned prior or this is how this stuff ships. The top of the bag was banded by a zip-tie and there was juice leaked out from it everywhere. I pulled the bag out of the bucket and there was a hole in one of the corners of the bag as more juice came streaming out. Even though it cost $$$ it went right into the garbage as its not worth getting sick. What a same I love this stuff. I'm only giving 3 stars do to the packaging I received; otherwise, I would of given 5 stars for the taste. Now I will find another source to order another gallon from.3Warning!!! Can be very hot. Use less than what you expect.Super hot, but, its jerk seasoning. If you expect anything less, you're not wanting real jerk. Use sparingly until you figure out the heat level that you desire.5Much better value than the little jars of this stuffSame spice, much better buy than getting the little 8oz jars of this stuff.I love jerk and this is my savior. Since nobody is going to be using this entire tub within a few weeks; I recommend putting it into mason jars and storing them in the freezer. The spice eats right through plastic bags.I pig out on jerk once or twice a week, and this is enough to last me about two years.Walkerswood in general is the absolute best. I wish they would come out with a low-sodium variant.Anything that goes well with Franks hot sauce will also go well with Walkerswood. Try it on burritos, it's amazing.5The best!This stuff is great. You can make some truly authentic jerk with this paste and the right technique. Try it on some baby backs - it will blow your mind. Great on chicken too! I find the reccomended amount to not be enough on thicker cuts like chicken thighs. I usually double it or more. It will be hot, like it should. To really get it right it is best to marinate the chicken in it for 2 days before hand. The flavor changes quite a bit from a shorter marinade time and the flavor is much deeper and more rounded. I like to lay the chicken on a bed of bay leaves and roast them indirect on a grill with some allspice berries thrown on the coals from time to time for some smoke. It s killer!5
