Great for Blood Flow and Tense MusclesI bought the jade roller for myself to help with reducing puffiness before I applied makeup and before bed, however my boyfriend gets more use out of it. He has shoulder issues due to an injury and applying a cold jade roller does wonders for the tenderness. I use the studded end first around the tense muscles and then the smooth end to get the circulation flowing. 5Heavier than expected, not flimsy. Feels like real stone to me, mostlyI bought one Type D (dark jade double roller) and one Type C (pale jade single roller, same structure as Type A but larger). Happy w/ both so far. The Type D roller I received is less dark than pictured but still beautiful. It feels heavy in the hand, rolls smoothly, and applies a good amount of pressure simply due its shape and mass, w/o my having to exert force. Type D's face roller side is fatter and shorter than the Type C roller (and, it appears, than the more popular Type B). Type C is also of substantial weight, and covers more surface area as it's wider across, but I press slightly more w/ my hand, or use it for lighter massage.As for efficacy: rather than using to de-puff, I have found jade-rolling good for drawing blood closer to the skin surface, for a plumping effect (Alicia Keys' facialist allegedly uses this method). However, newish to jade rolling, I'm wary of doing it too often / too long, as I can really feel the blood in my face afterwards for a while. And what is all that pressing doing to sebum production? I'd like to see more science behind the method. In the meantime, I will use once a day or so and update this review with new results if any.Are these 100% real jade? I am no mineralogist but based on feel/use: the larger rollers on both Type C and D feel like real jade, or at least real stone. Type C's handle also feels stony. Type D's handle and eye roller feel less definitively stone-like, plausibly a hard higher-grade plastic. In spite of that, I'm pleased with my purchase and am giving 5 stars for value. Having spent hours poring over reviews/descriptions of way pricier jade rollers (by Ying Yu Jade, White Lotus, Ling, etc., all in the $40 to $90 range), I'm glad I took a chance w/ these two that still cost less together than one of those. They came shipped very well padded: in a thin zip-lock bag that was inside a padded envelope, that was wrapped with bubble plastic, and all that inside a flat cardboard pack. I got both from seller US.online911 so can't vouch for other sellers. Also, I wish someone could explain Type F (the dark red one) to me -- what is that stone supposed to be? 5Early morning and/or hangover game-changerI keep this in my fridge for rough mornings, of the grumpy or alcohol-induced variety. Secondly, when I opened it, it was broken already. The bigger roller was completely broken off from the stick, and they oval rollers are barely held on to the metal bars. It's so delicate the whole thing will fall apart with 1 use. What a waste of time and money. DO NOT purchase this. Spend the extra money to get a quality one! 1Real jade here.Don't know if it's changed my skin, etc., but it feels really good when my face is hot. I've had no problems with it breaking, although it does squeak sometimes when I roll it. 5easily breaksi bought three, and they all broke within a week of using them.
