The perfect little happy light for Seasonal Affective Disorder! For most of my adult life, I've struggled with Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D). The winter months in the midwest are especially tough for me, especially January and February. For years I've said I need to try a "happy light", and did try one several years ago but it really didn't seem to help all that much. It was the size of my hand and I felt like I had to practically have my face in it for it to work.A friend of mine recently purchased one of the Sunrise Sensation lights for her and her grown daughter. Knowing how much the cold and lack of sunlight affect me in the winter months, she told me about it and how much they've noticed a change in their moods and demeanor since using it. I was sold. And I'm so glad!First of all, this light is not small. It's larger than I expected but that's a good thing! And it's so pretty...the design with the natural wood trim fits in well with my decor. I've been using it every day for the past few weeks...during the LONGEST January ever, and I'm happy to report that my mood has been uplifted. Although it doesn't emit warmth, it feels like warm sunshine and that has made me happy, even on the darkest, coldest days. I'm happy to report I've had only one truly sluggish, down day since I've incorporated this therapy light into my life. It definitely fulfills its promise. I'm really glad I took the chance and finally invested in a great light for S.A.D light therapy!5Very Good LightI really liked this light and it makes me happy. I live in a highrise apartment and do not have a lot of space. I considered buying some of the smaller lights but was concerned about their light output. This lamp is a good size and the light panel is large and puts out a lot of light. it easily fills a room. The light is not so harsh that it gives me a headache, as I've read on other models, and on top of that the brightness and color are both adjustable.The footprint is larger than a regular panel-shaped light, so it doesn't fit easily into storage, but the bonus is that it looks great and I don't ever feel like I have to put it away when guests are over. The shape is unlike the others I've seen and I think this is a plus. It is definitely a modern look that fits well into the decor of the apartment.According to the description the wood is sustainably sourced rubber wood. It looks a bit like a maple butcher block, but without the striped pattern. It is a good look and highlights the angular design very well. There is also wood on the back but with the light facing forward it's rarely visible.The product came inside a huge box with thick styrofoam padding which was not the most environmentally friendly. But considering that the lamp itself is mostly wood and not plastic I think it is more than acceptable.5Beautifully functional & caring customer serviceThis is the best sunlamp on the market. Though I struggle with SAD, I have bought and gotten rid of (donated) two other sunlamps because they looked like sad, cold, bleak medical devices and made me depressed. I finally decided, after my doctor told me I needed to have one, to splurge on this beauty. The look of it alone is worth the money. It's beautifully constructed and we leave it out all year because we like looking at it. It also has different light temperatures and a remote control. And to top this all off, the company that makes it is incredibly responsive and truly kind. I lost my remote and asked if I could buy a new one and without hesitating, they said they'd send me one for free and spent $8 shipping it to me one day priority shipping. I just cannot say enough good things about my whole experience with this company and this lamp!5Lighting up my life all the timeSensation.. wow.. this thing LIGHTS UP MY DAY!I've had this lamp for about two months. It has performed fantastically and more than fulfilled expectations. Here in the Pacific Northwest the lack of sun, especially in the cold months, can make for gloomy mornings. But this therapy light has a large panel, casting a bright light, that really brightens the morning. The attractive design is a great plus for the home. And I love how the light color can be adjusted to be softer and yellower in the evenings to provide light while not making it harder to fall asleep.5A light that chases away the winter bluesWe bought this light because we have read in the past of light therapy treatment in countries of Northern Europe. I feel as do members of my family that the declining sunlight of late fall and winter does effect us. First of all this light fixture is beautifully designed. It looks like a finely crafted work of art that can blend into your room decor with ease. It is that attractive. You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into crafting its design.The unit is very easy to use with a long electric cord and thumb switch that gets you up and running right away. The remote control is very easy to use and to program. With the remote you can change the warmth of the light and the brightness of the light to better suit your needs and your mood. The light is soft and diffused so that you do not have the feeling you are staring into a bright bulb. Quite the opposite. With just a few uses, you can feel the positive effect this lamp will have on you. With the sun setting early (well before 5 pm where we live), I turn on the lamp and it extends our day. We have noticed the positive effect on our mood and our well being. We are fans of the product and honestly give it our recommendation.5Excellent Design and CraftsmanshipI live in a pretty dark and secluded area and my room is usually pretty dark at night. I bought this lamp hoping it would just be something to light my up room. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this lamp did such a great job.First off the design:I find the design aesthetically pleasing, almost like a work of art. It resembles something you would find in Japanese art. I like the way the light uniformly shines through the translucent paper-like covers so as not to be blinding when looking directly at the lamp. I also quite like the high quality wood trim. The paper-like covers are made of sturdy plastic so the lamp is durable. The overall build quality and craftsmanship is top notch.Secondly the features:I love the fact that it comes with a remote control. It is a game changer for comfort and convenience. The remote control works flawlessly , has many functions, and has great range. The remote allows you to turn the lamp on and off, dim the light, change the light color/temperature, and control multiple lamps if you have more than one. They really thought it through and future proofed it. I like the fact that you have so many different lighting colors to choose from to better match what room you are using it in and what season your location is currently experiencing.I hope in future products they allow more dim/fade levels, timers for it to automatically turn on and off, and perhaps more colors and maybe a built in bluetooth speaker. I feel like this could all be done through an app on your phone.It is a great versatile product and I quite enjoy using it to brighten my day.5Modern Design Therapy LampThe first thing I noticed was how modern the light is. I ve been searching for a light that looks great in my home as well as it serves a purpose in my home. I have replaced my side table lamp with my therapy lamp and it looks perfect. I m actually buying a second one for the other table. The remote is useful to dim or increase the strength of the light and change the natural color that suits you for the day. I love it.5Love this lamp!Love this thing. Years ago I thought I wasn t seasonally affected...and then slowly noticed that my mood would swing a bit when it would rain in long stretches or with lots of sunny days. This year, when winter set in, I wanted to have a strategy to deal with the shorter days and rainy season. So I bought this.I knew I wanted to have something that looked good so that I would want to keep it out and use it. I haven t regretted owning it a day... I love the shape and size - it s beautiful, and it keeps my office nice and sunny no matter what the weather is like outside.I keep it on for long stretches of time (mornings aren t my thing) so I turn it on it the morning and it stays on for about six hours. I turn it off in the afternoon. It sits behind me in my desk area - so it brightens up the room and I haven t found that it s harder to sleep even with it on that long.Remote has worked. Setup was easy. Came in a really well protected box.Really really love this lamp.5this has truly helped me get out of bed in the morningI was a little skeptical of therapy lights in the past, but I went out on a limb with this one to see if it would help me as I suffer from depression and SAD. To put it simply, this has truly helped me get out of bed in the morning. I start my day with 30-60 minutes of exposure on the brightest setting while I prep for my day. My energy levels are improving AND my mood is noticeably improved over the last week.As an obvious bonus, this lamp is beautiful to look at and compliments any room, not like typical therapy lamps I ve seen. It has multiple settings to adjust the time of day in regards to light brightness and colour, and can be set from dim to very bright.Overall this has been a great investment for myself and my well-being. I would definitely recommend it to anyone curious about light therapy to help SAD/depression.5Life- Changing, Beautiful Light!WOW. I have always heard great things about light- therapy lights, but to be honest I have always been underwhelmed by the way they look. The Sunrise Sensations lamp is absolutely beautiful, and blends in with my decor.Not only is this lamp beautiful, but it WORKS. I ve been using it consistently for about 7 weeks now, and my mood has been lifted, and the most amazing thing, my anxiety and energy levels have vastly improved. I have energy until the sun goes down, when I used to struggle all day, everyday.I love how I can adjust the color temperature of the lamp.You NEED this lamp. This is the one you ve been looking for!5
