It took a couple of tries for him to learn how to use it and with poor flexibility in his feet and ankles he could not ...A really handy tool for someone who cannot reach their feet to remove their socks. I bought this for a physically challenged family member who had the experience of having to call on a friend to come over and help him get his too tight compression socks off because they were hurting his legs. It took a couple of tries for him to learn how to use it and with poor flexibility in his feet and ankles he could not manage the flexing of his foot like the pictured instructions show. But he was able to slide his sock off without any other assistance. We are well-pleased with this purchase. 5I found it clumsy & hard to use, tried ...I found it clumsy & hard to use, tried it a few times & not once did it help to remove the compression stockings in fact, when inserted wrong & trying to push down, much pain was felt in heel/ankle area. This did not work well at all with my arthritic hands. I must return this & try another! 1Great Helper for Removing Socks even compression socksI broke my grabber trying to take off my socks. I was so happy to find this item and it works really well. You slip it between your leg and the sock and just shove the sock down until it is off. You might still need that grabber to pick the socks off the floor. I had hip joint surgery and this is fabulous. It works for all my socks--compression socks, dress socks, and casual socks. 5Works So-SoI find that this device work ok except when you push it down the leg under the sock. It doesn't stay beneath the sock when about 4 inches from the heel of the foot. Perhaps I'm not using it property, but I find it easier to take the sock off without it. Would not rebuy this product. 3After using the Sock-eez for two months, I find ...After using the Sock-eez for two months, I find it works very well on the left leg, but more difficult on the right leg. I consider this model a "right-handed" version. This allows one to see what you are doing (i.e., between your legs) when removing hose from the left leg. You cannot see when trying to remove hose from the right leg. It's a guessing game. It does work, but takes about three times as long. How about making a "left-handed" version. I would certainly buy one of each, and then I could give you 5 stars. 4It'll Knock Your Socks Off!At first I had trouble trying to get my compression socks off with the sock-eez. I decided to keep working with it to make it work. My problem was getting it over my heel. Well I learned to maneuver it around to the side of my foot then down to my heel and pry off the sock. Once I learned how to do it it works GREAT! I can now take off my own socks without any help, a true blessing. I feel like a kid that just learned how to tie his own shoes!!! 5Great removal tool for those with limited mobility!This removal aid was ordered for my 87 yr old mother, who has just been prescribed compression stockings to wear daily. In my opinion, most folks over 50 would have trouble getting on true, medical grade compression stockings due to the stockings' tension and lack of elasticity. We purchased an aid to get them on, but as I placed that order, I realized that she would also need help getting them off! Thankfully, the good folks at Sock-eez had already figured that out and invented this handy tool! Although putting the hose on and off is a chore, this tool gives my mother much greater access to the garment and assists in getting them off without endangering her balance or straining her muscles. Great tool when you need it! 5Great Strongly Made ProductThis is my second review of this product. After learning how to use it, and using it for a time, I am more impressed with it. A definite five-star product, well designed and strongly made. I wish I had known how well it worked years ago. 5Still LookingI can't seem to get the hang of using this. It works fine until I get to my heel then the stocking keeps slipping out and as I try to keep tight against leg (between the stocking and my skin) it hurts my leg. Still looking for a good doffer. 1Easy to use!My 80 year old mother had hip surgery and could not get her compression socks off at night. She was left in tears. I frantically looked for sometimg to help her (if it even existed!) and found Sock-eez. They were a miracle!!! She was able to easily use them and instantly had no more trouble getting the socks off. Definitely worth it! 5
