Keeps my pelvis fairly stableI bought this belt on the recommendation of my physical therapist - I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have been having SI pain since about 16 weeks. I'm an RN so I'm on my feet all the time at work, helping patients get in and out of bed, scooting them up in bed, etc. The belt as definitely helped, though I wouldn't say it's a fix-all. I still have some pain, but I do feel like my pelvis is more stable than it was.Down side is that the belt does tend to ride up after awhile. As a pregnant woman, it's also mildly annoying that I have to undo the belt every time I go to the bathroom (which is often), but the belt has to go that low or it wouldn't be effective. So overall it's a pretty good temporary fix. 4Legs went numb from decreased circulationThis belt was recommended by my physical therapist to help with SI issues. She suggested I wear it snuggly and anytime I was awake. First, like many have said, it s impossible anatomically to keep this thing where it s leant to be. As soon as I sit down or bed it shifts up and isn t effective. It definitely digs into my hips and causes a very odd silhouette. The worst part though, after about 2 months of wearing it snuggle all day every day, the fronts of both my legs have gone numb. I m thinking this is caused by damage to the nerves where the belt presses. I haven t worn the belt for several days and my lower legs are still numb on the top. 2My miracle......I was going to therapy for my lower back pain and the therapist suggested I try a SI belt they had. I wore it the 40 minutes of therapy, came home and ordered this one. It's a small/medium and has been a miracle. If I wake up and have pain I put this on and snug it up. 5 or 10 minutes and my pain has lessened or quit. Placing it under your clothes but over underwear is the trick. Also placement. It goes just above the hip joint but below the hip. Snugly! In a few minutes I give it another adjustment and forget it. It's hand washable. Down fall? One. If you need to go potty, remember you're wearing it and give yourself time to undo it. 5This is a very comfortable belt that does not ride up off of your ...This is a very comfortable belt that does not ride up off of your hips. It is also very thin, even with the added stabilizer. There are rubber-like lines on the inside of the belt that keep it in place. The instructions say to wear it over your underwear. I have also worn it over skinny jeans. I can wear it all day and not feel uncomfortable. For comparison purposes, I am 5'5", weigh 125 lbs and have stenosis and SI joint pain. Although it will not totally take away pain, it does keep you stabilized in the hip area so that the pain is lessened as compared to not wearing the belt. 5Good Sacroiliac BeltI am a physical therapist and as well as a person with SI joint pain. I own and use both this belt and the SI loc belt. This will not eliminate SI joint pain but will noticeably reduce it. I find this belt to be more effective, but less comfortable than the SI loc belt. It has very effective non-skid pads that keep it from riding up, but the pads dig in. The other belt is wider and better padded, but more inclined to ride up. I wear this belt on the really bad days and the SI loc on the less bad days. I also have the optional pad sold separately, which I found to be of very little use.Two side notes. This belt in size medium runs smaller than the SI loc in size small-medium so choose your size carefully. This product's label says that it contains latex. I don't know about the other one. 4Please read before you purchaseThis low rating is not because it is a terrible product, it is because the directions show you how to place the belt with a stabilization pad. After Amazon checked with the manufacturer, the pad can be purchased for an additional 15 dollars. So for those of you who were not getting the expensive belts, many of them come with forms of stabilization, this does not. The Amazon app does not inform you of this while the manufacturers website does. This may be considered to be a scam by some people. My PT recommended getting a cheaper belt, but didn't realize it didn't come with a stabilization pad. I hope someone from the manufacturer or Amazon finds a way to let people know of this before the purchase it. There are not any directions for use without a stabilization pad. 1Sturdy SI belt, good qualityThis is a good quality SI belt for the money. The velcro makes it a cinch to adjust. The belt does run a bit small though. I bough the medium (32"-42") and my waist is ~35" and the velcro is just long enough. The slip-resistant inner surface is a plus. 4Would recommend to a friend.I like the belt BUT the Velcro area does not hold the belt tight enough, it keeps slipping. May have to check out another brand.***Please note - the above review was incorrect. I did not have the Velcro area pulled back all the way but now it sticks beautifully. Sorry for the above review, now that I have it pulled back correctly it sticks and I've worn it today and it feels great. 5Misleading sizing info, non-return policy not prominently featuredI was careful to read the sizing information. I have a 27" waist, so ordered the belt for a "Small Waist". The belt arrived and was too small by about 8 inches. The sizing information should specify that the measurement should taken halfway before the pelvic and hip bones. I learned that the belt could not be returned only when I sought to return or exchange it. My disappointment could have been avoided if these two bits of information had been more prominently and clearly stated. 1it works!this one works very well when in (sciatic pain shooting from the back to the side buttocks down to back of calf kind) pain. after hundreds of $ on other different braces and supports (ranging from just okay to works well), i am so glad with THIS SIMPLE ONE that stopped the pain THE BEST! i control the (tightness) pressure with ease. it stays in place where i need the squeeze at the hip (no rising at all). i where this on under underwear so it does not effect when i gotta use the bathrooms quickly times! this is the maintenance fix while in sharp pain mode. i still constantly have my chiropractor put my spine in place (root problem), home alignment gadget and inversion board whenever possible throughout the day. 5
