Worked for my plantar fasciitisEveryone's different - apparently it works for some folks but not for others. I'm fortunate it worked for me. I noticed improvement the very next day, and promptly bought a second one for the other foot. My pain was virtually gone in two weeks. Now I use it every few days, maybe once or twice a week, as I feel the need.Yes, it's awkward to sleep that way. It'll probably disturb your sleep; it did mine. But it was a small price to pay to be able to walk normally again. Besides, my pain disturbed my sleep anyway. 5It helps!It fits pretty well. When pulling it on I do try to leave a little room for my toes as it makes it a lot more comfortable. I am 6'2" and the large is just about the right fit. It could be an inch longer to get all the way over my calf, but I am able to tighten the velcro strap above the sock and calf to keep it in place. It has definitely helped my heel pain! 4So this one of the better night socks I have usedSo this one of the better night socks I have used, but a major design flaw is the velcro strap on top. it is closed behind the knee and has no Nonvelcrotab to grab onto. So it is hard as hell to get the damn thing off. If I was 18 years old I would not have plantar fasciitis now, would I? So let's fix this design flaw for the people for whom it is intended. 3If you have Plantar Fasciitis, try this sock firstIf you have Plantar Fasciitis, try this sock first. Skip the hard plastic boots, the cortisone shots, the podiatrist, anti-inflammatories pills, heck even the physical therapist. The next night I put a foot insert in and pulled up to a full 90 degrees and it didn't pull on my toes plus, the next morning, I could walk without pain. 5Holding out hopeThe tension, at least for myself, is focused on the big toe and creates a hotspot. A few hours into the night and I wake up in pain and can't get them off fast enough. I keep being told to give them time and I'll get used to it, it's been a month now. They're at the lowest adjustment that I can get the hook & loop fastener to grip. They collect every piece of hair, fur and lint around and won't let it go. The instructions say to only spot wash, do not submerge in water. Pretty soon these things are going to look like furry boots. 3I am super short thoughThese are way too long, they go to mid thigh. I am super short though. I got the large because the revoews said many people thought they were too tight. I made it work. I cannot sleep in them because my toes go numb. I just use them while I'm relaxing. They do give a good passive stretch which makes my feet feel better. I think they're worth it. 4Helps Avoid Plantar Fasciitis PainI have used this for three weeks. Ordered after serious, ongoing early-morning plantar fasciitis foot/heel pain upon rising. Relief was almost immediate. Within two nights, I experienced drastic reduction in just-out-of-bed pain and later-in-the-day walking-around pain.This sock is not a cure by itself. Use with stretches throughout the day.The sock can be used to stretch the tendon or simply support the toe-end of the foot -- depending on how tight one pulls the dorsiflexion strap.Keeping the foot at a 90 degree angle to the calf (or less) when the toes are not otherwise supported (e.g., in bed or feet elevated to read or watch television) seems to help avoid a tightening of the tendons/fascia/whatever in a bad (painful upon movement) position. Without this, the front of my foot tends to drop or point down. 5Great idea! Was recommended this and believe me it ...Great idea! Was recommended this and believe me it gives a nice stretch. You have to make sure you strap it correctly, if not, you'll be waking up in the middle of the night. Trial and error will help to reach that happy medium. I just got this last night and before I went to bed put them on. First thing in the morning when I took them off, I felt no pain! I've been up since 7 am and it's passed 6 pm and still not pain. At the same time, I'm wearing orthodicts designed for low arches and a heel gel. They all are playing a role, but this product did well with stretching my plantar fascia. Only stretches toes.I purchased this item at the recommendation of my physical therapist, for the purpose of stretching my ankle. However, the item does nothing of the sort.It's pulling up, directly from the end of the toe. This means that all of the force is exerted only on the toes. At first, it's painful, then my toes go numb. I can relieve the pressure by consciously bending my foot up, but the sock does none of that, for me. I never bothered wearing them overnight.For this item to work, it would need to apply most of the torque from the ball of the foot. 1Really helped relieve my plantar faciaitis very quickly.I greatly prefer these socks to the hard boots. I roll around at night and usually manage to pull my foot out of the hard boots. These stay on all night. I followed the advice of another reviewer and put in some foot bed inserts from a pair of shoes I had and it better distributes the traction to my whole foot rather than focus on the toes. I experienced great improvement and reduced pain literally overnight and with continued use see noticeable continued improvement. 5
