That would be my only issue though 5It was a $55 co-pay and a free night splint or just $30 hereI was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal deformities at around 14. I've been dealing with the aches and pain of arthritis for more than half my life. By this point, I can essentially diagnose my own injuries since I've hurt nearly every part of my body. I knew I had injured my plantar fascia again, and this had helped me substantially on my right foot when I last went to the doctor and my insurance paid for this very item for free. The only problem was-- both of my feet were now injured and I needed another one. I was more than happy to be able to pay half of what my co-pay would have been on something I knew would make me feel better without all the traveling to the doctor. This has indeed helped me substantially, and once one of them gets stretched out (Because it happens, they do, if you need them daily) I will purchase again. It even comes with an extra strap that my doctor's office failed to give me. It helps stability substantially. When I forget to wear this brace, I really feel it. 5BUY THIS BOOT AND DO NOT PAY FOR A BOOT THE ORTHO ORDERS. SAVE YOURSELF HUNDREDS!Order a size larger than shoe size to prevent toes over hanging and rubbing. Foot will naturally move as you reposition due I think the night. It is not a walking boot but it does not say it is. It help at 90 degree angle well. The COST OF THIS BOOT WAS HUNDREDS CHEAPER than the boot my Ortho ordered for me. My insurance paid all but $200 or so of that boot and it was heavier to move around in and did the same as this one ordered from this seller. 4Good productI bought it as a backup as my podiatrist gave me already one to heal an inflammation of the Achilles tendon.This is very helpful in the healing. I wear it at night. I came quickly and I've been wearing it ever since. My only issue is that I have big calves so I need another strap to keep this from sliding off during the night. 4Works wellThis is a better night splint than the one I had. You have to position it just right to avoid pressure on the top of your foot. But it works well and I am able to keep it on all night without too much discomfort 5The best night splint out of the four I have used!This is the 4th night splint I have tried, & it is the only one that provides the adjust-ability & comfort I need. Since I have bursitis of my heal, I needed a product that would not put pressure on the heal but still keeps a 90 degrees or more angle for my foot. The splint is extremely well padded where the padding is needed. One of the problems I had with other splints was that, over time, they created "hot spots" with buckles or inadequate padding; over time, these spots would become a pain problem.I can highly recommend this splint! 5Relief!This has helped tremendously and is far more comfortable than the Futura one available in stores. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the top curves outward and gets in the way sometimes. Still way way better than anything else I've tried. Using this at night and wearing Birkenstocks during the day has almost completely fixed my plantar faciitis. 4Decent splint, but not enough informationI have Achilles' tendonitis, and I used to wear a boot-style splint. I was hoping these would be less bulky, and they are, but I'm not exactly in love with them. Quick take on the cons:--"Small" just isn't small enough in my case. I'm a women's 6 1/2 to 7, well within the stated size, but these dwarf my feet, making it more difficult than it should be to fit them.--Both the written instructions and the video onsite weren't sufficient to make me feel sure I was using them correctly, I had to do a lot of feeling out.--Show a second strap and then charge for it as an extra item? Really?--The "readout" is an enigma. Sometimes it says it's at max while totally loose, sometimes it's as tight as can be and it says 90. It can vary wildly between each foot. Again, there's not enough instruction here.With that in mind, I've been working with them for about half a year now, and have developed a protocol that works, where I can feel my tendons stretch properly--I recommend doing this in bed (they ARE wonderfully light enough to sleep in!), but any area where you can stretch your legs out entirely straight works.NOTE: I am not a doctor of any capacity and this is not *medical advice*, it's a *product instruction manual*. Your mileage may vary, and at no point should you be in pain while following these steps. If you feel pain, discomfort, or numbness at any point, take off the splint IMMEDIATELY.1) Put your foot in the "shoe" part FIRST. Make sure it's far enough into the shoe that it has a solid grasp on your foot, because this is where the splint is going to be applying leverage.2) Tighten "shoe" straps as much as you can while still allowing wiggle room for your toes--it should be firm, not tight, so it doesn't cut off circulation.3) Stretch your leg out flat and straight. The hard plastic top shell should be flush with the top of your leg, again allowing room for circulation. If it's cutting in anywhere, try steps 1-2 again, but you may ultimately need a larger size. Do NOT just let it cut off blood flow!From this point, try to keep your leg straight in front of you.4) Tighten higher strap around your upper ankle or calf. Again, firm, but not tight. I have some trouble with the positioning here still, because mine seem to be too small, and the straps can slip--I've found it helpful to push the strap itself higher on the back of my calf than the top of the hard shell, so that it gains a small amount of tension against it.5) As you start to tighten the middle strap, RELAX YOUR FOOT. THIS IS IMPORTANT. The natural instinct is to push against the splint as you're tightening it, but if you do this, you'll lose tension as soon as your foot relaxes, and you won't get any stretch in your tendons. Unless you particularly enjoy lying around in fake moon boots, this is not recommended.6) Keep your foot relaxed and pull the middle strap until you feel a comfortable stretch in the back of your leg. If you have small feet and it seems to always pull to "max" without doing anything, you can achieve extra tension by pulling the top of the "shoe" toward yourself to tighten it even further, but again, DO NOT overdo it--you should not be in pain at any point during this process.7) Check to see if it feels right. There shouldn't be any places where it's cutting into you or otherwise constricting blood flow. It should NOT hurt. If it's providing tension, you'll feel it in the back of your leg. If you're experiencing any discomfort, adjust as needed, and don't be afraid to take the entire thing off and try again, especially if this is new to you--it takes a little practice.8) Repeat for other foot.9) If nothing seems to work, don't be afraid to call your local podiatrist and see if they can help you figure it out. You deserve the care!Takeaway: This is not a bad product. Now that I have it working, it's an improvement over the bulky boot style in terms of comfort and storage. But it's not a good choice for beginners, and the manufacturers could stand to improve their instructions a great deal. Also, the extra strap still bugs me--it seems like it should be part of the main product, not an "add-on".Be careful, and remember to contact your doctor if something doesn't feel right, whatever splint you choose! 3No pain!I have had severe pain due to plantar fasciitis for many months. Went to doctor and was told to "wear Good shoes". I sent thousands of dollars trying to find the right shoe too help me walk without severe pain. Some would work for awhile then pain would increase. Last ditch effort, I ordered this brace after reading suggestions on an orthopedic site. I have work it two nights this far. First morning when I stood up, no pain. Seriously!! No pain. Didn't expect it to work. Went through the day and after being on my feet most of these day, I had some pain but not near what I have previously experienced. Wow! Once again, this morning (2nd time to wear at night), no pain. It seems to be awesome! I really needed some relief!! 5
