Best bronze grab bar I could find at 16 inches.If you've been shopping for grab bars, perhaps you've been as puzzled as I am. They are all required to be affixed to studs, otherwise they are not secure enough. Standard wall construction puts studs at 16 inches on center. And yet, not that many 16" grab bars out there. I've seen lots of 18"...and longer. I'm assuming the longer-than-18" ones are for angled installation. But if you want to install a bar horizontally, stud to stud, your options are limited.That said, this is a good, solid grab bar. Nice finish, though it doesn't exactly match my other bronze Moen fixtures. You can't see it in the photo, but there are indentations on the back side of the bar for your fingers...would help prevent your hand sliding along the bar when wet. Good design. The mount covers don't affix securely enough...one of mine is a bit loose, even though it is fully snapped over the mounting plate.It's tough to make something as seriously functional as this attractive...at a reasonable price...so they've done a pretty good job. 4Great item!We ve purchased many of these forBoth our home and for various job installs. Great bars and great price. 5Mixed ReviewThe grab bar was nice looking and well made, but buyers need to be aware that the color of the "Old World Bronze" is a darker color than other fixtures termed as being bronze and darker than the photographs of the grab bar pictured on internet advertising. 4Moen is Always GreatI bought a set of these to make our shower safer for my 89-year-old mother who is disabled from a stroke. I almost bought a set without the grips, but that would have been a mistake. The grips are a great feature to help get a better grip when your hands - and the bar - are wet. But please note, that a disabled person without assistance would do better with the etched chrome bars which reduce the slipperiness even more. 5looks good!The grab bar matches the color of the other bathroom fixtures. It was easy to install vertically in 20 minutes on a stud "with included wood screws". I am getting ready for a knee replacement and hopefully this will make my life easier after the surgery. 4Good Grab BarI was adding an additional grab bar to match the existing bar in my shower. Was perfect match. Very strong and well made. If you anchor to a stud, there is no danger of it coming loose. A word of caution - drill a pilot hole in the stud before trying to mount. The screws are pretty soft and the phillip head slots will burr quickly when using the drill driver. 5Very Happy with the Moen 16-inch Grab Bar...Beautiful while FunctionalThis product has held up to the high standards that I have come to expect from Moen over the years especially being a granddaughter of a successful high-end plumbing business owner. What I love specifically about this product besides the quality & its relatively inexpensive price is how the serrated part of the bar is not noticeable. This makes the fixture look more decorative than functional even though the functional feature is what I desired. So not only did I get a product that is going to help me not to fall and further injure myself (I'm a 41 yrd old female with 14 herniated discs) but it also looks beautiful in my shower!! 5Got 2 for my shower tubI have a deep tub and needed 2 grab bars to help me get in and out and my contractor installed then into my granite stone tiles. I could not use them for a week to set but then after that I started to use them every time I get into or out of the tub. They look beautiful like in the 5-star hotels I have stayed at. I love the brushed silver on them. They are strong and sturdy. 5Basic grab barThis is a basic grab bar with a nicer finish. It's a stretch to call it a "designer" item. I wish it wasn't quite as geriatric looking. It's the large diameter that makes it stand out as a grab bar, and it's a little too large for small hands. On the positive side, it's sturdy and has ridges on the back of the handle which are probably helpful. 3Matches the other chrome fixturesI actually was looking for an 18" but couldn't find one so choose the 16". I bought two for getting in on one side and out of the other side of the tub/shower. I don't really need the assistance yet but wanted it available if and when I do. We also put in a 36" grab bar (wanted 32") on the back wall of the tub/shower, this I do use to assist when shaving my legs. The chrome matches our Toto vanity and shower fixtures well but feel I have to wipe them down after each shower to keep the water spots off. I saw a rubberized version on the back side of some grab bars but these have groove indents that conform to your hands and work well also. I had blocking put in by my contractor between the studs so when everything was put in it had a good strong fastening. The price was reasonable and shipped very fast. 4
