These are perfect heel protectors against pressure wounds.I ordered this for my husband after he had surgery for a shattered knee cap. He has to keep his leg straight and after a few days he felt like he was going to get a pressure sore. The pillow wraps are perfect. He said they are comfortable and do the trick! I am going to get my mom some too. She is in an assisted living facility and bed ridden so instead of keeping her heels off the bed by putting pillows under her calves, they can just put these booties on her. 5Highly recommendedI bought these for my 97 year old mother who was getting pressure sores on her heels. They are the same type as the ones as were used in the hospital and rehab she was in recently. An excellent product. 5were terrible - since paraplegic needed something to protect feet from ...were terrible - since paraplegic needed something to protect feet from breakdowns while in bed - never stay on - ok if you stay still but having to turn every 2 hours just fell off - not sure what problem is - tried washing thought maybe flatten them some - tried bigger pieces of velcro - nothing works - regret I didn't go with critical reviews and went with good ones - my mistake 1Very good results with this productMy husband has been unable to walk or stand for 2 years now. His heels were beginning to deteriorate. The MediChoice Heel Pillow pair has worked very well. The "hot spots" on his feet are improving, so I am very pleased with them. 5Heel BootsI purchased this for my husband who is a paraplegic, The Heel pillows and nice and soft to protect his heels but for some reason his feet tend to slip out of the boots. This didn't happen with his old pair. I am thinking of adding additional velcro straps to see if that will take care of his feet slipping out.If it weren't for this problem I would definitely rate this a 4 or 5, 3Love these!These are great! My son has a pressure sore on his ankle and these really help. They are super padded and stay on very well. 5EasyVery nice for pressure sores but could be a little thicker padding on heel area. Easy to put on and take off with velcro closure. 3Good value, seem nicely madeApparently some people are confusing "hook and loop" with "hook and eye". "Hook and loop" fasteners are what is commonly called "Velcro" - but that's a brand name, and manufacturers can't say they use Velcro if they aren't using Velcro brand. Hook and loop is the correct description for the product. (Calling it "Velcro" is the same as calling all facial tissue "Kleenex", regardless of the brand.) "Hook and EYE" closures are where there is a metal hook on one side, and a metal loop ("eye") on the other, like what is used on bra straps. This product has a single strip of 1" wide hook-and-loop ("Velcro"-type) tape. There is no hook-and-eye closure.My mother had pressure sores developing on her feet. The doctor sold us large, expensive, good quality boots to relieve pressure and friction. But with my mother's disability, she was unable to put them on or take them off by herself, and they were too bulky for her to wear in her wheelchair or in bed, so they're currently expensive dust-collectors.I purchased these because I thought that with the single hook-and-loop tape closure, she might be able to put them on by herself, and they'd be less bulky for use in the wheelchair or for wearing in bed. They seem to work much better for her, though she doesn't wear them as often as she should, since she can't have them on her feet when transferring in and out of the wheelchair (to bed, toilet, etc.), as they are too slippery for her to do a pivot transfer safely. They are not designed for walking or standing on them - but they're fine for wearing when the person is sitting or lying down.Because she can't reach her feet easily due to partial paralysis, it was still a little hard for her to line up the narrow hook-and-loop tape exactly where it needed to be. I purchased a package of sew-on Velcro tape, and hand-sewed an additional "hook side" strip on each side of the existing strip on the bootie. This tripled the area for the tape to attach to, so that when she folds the tape flap over, she doesn't have to line anything up perfectly. (Sewing on additional tape strips might also be a good solution for people whose feet come out of them at night - depending on the person, maybe adding some closer to the toe area or ankle area.)The heel pillows seem pretty well made, the fabric is nicer than I expected, and I think they're a very good value for the price. They have a nice amount of stuffing for cushioning. 4Great protective booties for preventing bed sores on feet.These heel pillows work great for a bed bound elderly female patient with small feet. ( size 6 in shoes) The patient moves feet around, so at first the booties would slip off, but I used medical tape ( like masking tape) to tape above and below the Velcro fastener, and the booties stayed on. I made sure the applied tape made the bootie fit a tiny bit snug, but not tight, so as not to cut off circulation. I had tried a more expensive pair of tall foam boots with perforations for air circulation, but the patient has dementia and with foot and leg movement, quickly tore the foam. It is easier to reposition the patient in bed with these booties than the foam boots, which have more surface friction. These MediChoice Heel Pillows are durable and soft, and so far have prevented patient from developing bed sores on feet. They hold up well washing in warm water and drying in the dryer on low heat. 5MUCH TO PUFFY These fit great, however, they are were huge around (in puffiness). So much so that I would not have been able to reposition my feet. The seller would not respond to my requests to return them so I still have them setting in the box they came in. Won t EVER buy from this seller again!!!! 1
