Best tasting black tea I've hadDisclaimer: I was invited to write an early review for a $3 credit.I originally bought this after trying my first puer tea at a tea shop. I like my tea very strong, and the tea shop provided me a fancy (and expensive) puer tea that I really enjoyed and so I looked for some online. I find this puer not as strong, but the taste is amazing - so much so that, though I often add milk and sugar to black tea, I never do so with this tea because I don't want to spoil the taste (I rather have it with honey and lemon). So, all in all, a great tasting black tea - you get the caffeine benefits without any harsh taste. The packaging is also convenient and keeps it fresh.5Love the teaLove the tea! I DID NOT notice any weird smells like in the brands of Puerh tea. You have to have a teapot for this one though. I added lemon too - but I drink all teas with lemon.5Extremely potent teaThese mini cakes are indeed small but that doesn t detract from how unbelievably potent the tea is.My preference is to brew this as you would normally gong fu a ripe puerh and pour it into a glass of water. It ll cool down the drink for summer drinking and balance the very strong flavor.On the topic of flavor, it s enjoyable and a standard taste for what you re paying. Overall, you can t go wrong this these little guys. I love the foil wrapper that they come with. That makes tea drinking on the go a breeze.5Does NOT taste like fish.I had to post this for those curious. All of us have taken a walk on th wild side and thrown on some Pu Erh while ordering from our favorite tea supplier. Only to have it arrive and taste like rotten fish.I can't stress this enough....this stuff does not. It has a musky flavor that morphs into a mild sweetness? Hard to explain. As an American who has had nothing but garbage Pu Erh, with an unrefined Pu Erh pallet, I approve.Would also like to add I feel downright intoxicated after drinking one pick of this stuff. Brewed it 4 times and I have that weird almost drunk feeling from too much tea. That and the evacuation from my bowels this morning tell me it's got a solid amount of caffeine.5Best Shu for Your Yuan.Due to the prevalence of low-quality Pu-erh tea on the market, I was weary about buying this product; but, since my usual provider was unavailable, I decided to take a chance and I am so happy I did. For the price they are selling it for, JingLong Pu-erh is a bargain. I could not even detect a hint of that rotten fish odor the plagues certain other 'pu-erh' teas on the market and the taste was comparable to a 12 year old shu that I recently enjoyed. In fact, I am so impressed with this product that I've decided to get all my pu-erh from JingLong from now on. Thank you.5I m drinking tea now.I have never been much of a tea drinker. Most of what I knew was from tea bags. They tended to dry throat and make my tongue feel fuzzy. I was given some puerh tea cakes for Christmas. I found a tea that was more pleasant to drink. They were supposedly flavored but I couldn t tell but I liked some bettered than others. Next I ordered a variety of puerh teas from Amazon. I have nearly finished those and wanted to buy more tea. This tea had good ratings. I have tried it and like it best of any so far. I find it pleasant and have been drinking it daily. Who would have thunk?5Surprisingly GoodI usually drink puerh aged at least ten years, but this came up as a suggestion, and since it is so inexpensive I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the richness of the tea. Usually inexpensive factory-made puerh that isn't aged for long is weak, thin, maybe a little bitter. When the quality isn't good, what the seller often calls an "earthy" taste frequently reminds me more of mold than earth. This tea isn't like that. These cakes have a surprisingly full flavor that actually IS "earthy." I like it enough to try other products from the company. I would encourage the manufacturer to make available tea that has been aged two, three, or even four to five times as long. I would certainly try a more aged product from this company.5Very good teaThe tea was well packaged, individual foil wrapped tea cakes in a sealed bag. The tea had a fresh smell in the bag and makes a smooth, dark cup of tea. I can also reuse the tea cake several times. The price is very reasonable, extra tea cakes were included in the bag so there were 50 for less than $10.5Nice Tasting teaSo I have to admit I am rather ignorant about what this should taste like......BUT....the packaging was beyond excellent. Each tea cake is individually wrapped. I placed it in my filter container, and let it steep in a pot. The tea was nice, good flavor, no aftertaste like I heard complaints on with other brands (as if they were rancid). How pure it is, I really don't know. I would like to think so. Regardless, it makes a really nice tasting cup of tea, and I feel like I am choosing bettter for myself. I did notice that when I left the leaves in the filter, it did smell stronger the next day..... not bad, but made me feel like it actually was the real deal product. Just my thoughts. Good product for a very reasonable price. I would buy it again.4Unbelievably delicious!I purchased this tea out of curiosity while reading a book written by Breanna Hayse, my favorite author. The reviews were good, so I figured- why not?OMG!Steep the tea using a strainer (I let sit for about 2 minutes). Unlike green teas, the leaves aren't really edible BUT you can use them for a second or third cup. I let it steep longer with the repeat cups. You can also toss the cake in a big mason jars, add 2-3 cups of water, and make sun tea. It's great hot, cold and reheated.Now, for the flavor/aroma- I didn't know what to expect, to be truthful, but was incredibly pleased by what I found. It's a black tea- smooth, rich, just the perfect amount of bitterness. I added vanilla creamer and fell in love! It all depends on how you like your tea fixed-- the flavor is very flexible and adapts to different methods. (Dad tossed some orange zest to steep with it and loved the tiny hint of citrus)I enjoy teas in general (Dad's from UK, so it's bred into me) and my grandmother had a mind-boggling collection, but never this stuff. The 'fermented' flavor is light and distant, and leaves a curious taste in the palate that urges you to keep sipping.It was also a FAST pick me up! Forget the coffee-- I'm hooked.The cakes came in little foil wrappers- and were LARGER than what one would get in a standard US tea bag. The only downfall is you have to strain it, which means you can't just take it with you to a restaurant and pop it in your cup. That's an easy solution, though... bring a couple of tea filters along for the ride and you're set.5
