Great Coffee at a Great Price!I have been buying this Sumatra Coffee for years now. It is a great coffee for a great price. Always fresh, always delicious. Hands down.I lived in Seattle for almost 20 years and love coffee but I am not a coffee connoiesseur or coffee snob. This is a medium roast with lots of wonderful flavor and is always fresh. We live in Hawaii now (Big Island) surrounded by Kona Coffee and after taste tests, etc. I still buy this Sumatra.5it was very good coffee. It was fresh and full of flavor ...I am writing this as my initial experience with this coffee. We were purchasing in bulk from another on-line coffee bean vendor and decided to try this since it was cheaper. After brewing our first cup, it was very good coffee. It was fresh and full of flavor with a perfect roast. I am not sure how long the freshness will last but we have put in a sealed container to see if we can get through the 5 pounds with the same freshness. We normally consume about 5 pounds every two months. I can say that we will definitely re-order again.5Workaday CoffeeIt'll do the job. Reasonably fresh and roasted medium, not burnt or blonde. With no planning, we never run out of coffee beans. This Sumatran coffee (regular and decaf) is wonderfully robust and lack the surface oil characteristic of many robust brands (generally dark roasted).5Very light bodyMaybe it's the fact that it's "shade grown"...Purchased a different brand of "shade grown" Sumatra - same light, dare i say "thin" body.. I'm sure the beans are fine, but this variety is not what those accustomed to Sumatra grown on the mountain will be likely to appreciate - it's more of a Sumatra "tea" effect.. Pan roasted the beans in cast iron skillet til they were blackish and oily (then it tasted like some scorched Starbucks breakfast blend).. If you are stuck with this and roast it more yourself, be sure to let the roasted beans de-gas by leaving them out a few ours or using a bag with a de-gassing valve. The shipping was great, well-packaged and all, just probably not something Sumatra drinkers will recognize as coffee.2
