Skeptical at first but love these!I suffer from tinnitus, and bought these because I'm sensitive to loud noise and they came recommended by my ENT specialist. I usually buy the orange Macks. I do regular indoor spinning classes and work out at a gym loud pumping beats blaring through the speakers. I was skeptical at first, but after wearing them my tinnitus did not 'turn up' after working out. They don't block sound, which will make you think they are not working but they definitely take the edge off. I love them!5Ear protectionThese are large size, same as set regularly use in music ensembles. Larger size fits my ear better. Can't advise which size someone else should get, everybody different. They do reduce noise levels in ear. Arrived by UPS shipment. Had 2-3 estimated delivery dates. Came with another set had ordered at same time.5Standard fit is best fit I've found for my small canalsc comfortableStandard fit is best fit I've found for my small canals. All of the other reg/standards are a bit big for one of my ears- dr. say I just have small canals that go striaght up. I grab these vs foam that I'm always frustrated with. Their about as confy as I've found and I've had dozens. The stems do stick out, but I deal with it because even their foam tipped ones are just too big along with everyone elses 1/size fits all4Good overall productHave used these for a few years for noise reduction on my scooter. Wind noise over 50 mph is uncomfortable and obviously bad for hearing over time. The fit is good and comfortable and I can still hear what I need to with them inserted. They do wear out with time, but I easily get a whole riding season or two. I usually manage to lose them before they wear out, however.5Sound quality was amazing and I had absolutely no pain in my ears ...Very impressed by the sound quality of these plugs for live music. Completely changed the listening experience for me, as I had been using cheap foam plugs that ruined the balance of the sound. First used them at a metal show (Testament & Sepultura). Sound quality was amazing and I had absolutely no pain in my ears on the drive home. Really a good thing.5Great for concerts!Perfect amount of attenuation to comfortably attend most concerts. Unless you are right in front of the mains, you should be comfortable. The biggest deal for me was flat-ish attenuation, so the mix was correct, just lower SPL. These deliver in that aspect extremely well. Used them at a Dream Theater concert, 4th row, amazing fidelity and hearing safe noise level. Siskel and Ebert give them two thumbs up.5We will actually wear them.Our kids play actual rock concerts and wear these. They like that they can still differentiate all the parts and players, hearing what they need to hear. Additionally, they have had them for a long time and don't lose them because of the cord between them and because of the small case that just attaches to their guitar cases. They wore them at a Socal D concert too. We all did. I never used to because my hearing is already screwed up and the cheap ones just muffle the sound all together. I took these out for the mosh pit because they came out once, and I didn't want to lose them , but they stayed around my neck, under my shirt the whole time. Next time, I will try again though.4Smallest bud required snipping, but otherwise perfectThese were my second purchase of noise-protection buds. The first pair I purchased were simply too small and didn't sufficiently block the noise. So I returned the first pair and purchased these because they were designated as "size large."To get them to fit however I did what I read another reviewer did in snipping off the smallest bud at the tip. That allowed them to be inserted into the ear canal far enough to block out the noise. I use these when performing in a band since they're not as obvious as the utility headphones I wear while practicing.5Worked for us at the Indy 500We just traveled to attend the Indy 500. My husband and I bought these just for this race. No head pounding or ringing in the ears post using these. Was very thankful that they seemed to have worked well. My masters degree is in audiology, and I was impressed with these ear plugs.5Almost as good as fitted plugs for musicI am a musician with mild tinnitus. I got fitted earplugs alomst 20 years ago to keep the tinnitus under control but bought some of these ER-20s to use as backups/spares. In case I forgot to bring my fitted plugs, I always have a set in the car or in my instrument case. The only thing to know about these is the sizing. My wife and I both need the LARGE plugs, the "normal" plugs are too small for both of us. Everyone's ears are different. Especially if you are thinking of buying a few sets, buy one of each size and see which is right, before ordering the extra sets. The audio quality is almost as good as fitted plugs (mine are also form Etymotic). There's a bit less high end and a litle less clarity (I gave them a 4) but it's far superior to foam "shoooter's" plugs. I still use shooter's plugs for operating lawn mower, snowblower and other loud power tools, the more muffled sound is better for that application. If you are exposed to loud music on a regular basis, either as a musician or a listener, I highly recommend these ER-20 plugs. Save your ears so they'll work for the rest of your life. Tinnitus and deafness are no joke.5
