Perfect SeatExactly what I needed. It's lightweight yet supports my plus size weight just fine. It was really easy to assemble. It was nicely boxed with a picture of the product and a plastic carry handle. It was such a nice box that I hated to throw it away so I used the box for a joke on my son at Christmas. I packed a few of his gifts in the box and when he opened it I told him that he was getting to the age when he could use some support in the shower. He was speechless at first, then weakly said, "I can stand up to take a shower......" He was thoroughly puzzled until I insisted that he open the box. I got a huge chuckle because he is a real joker and has pulled lots of stunts on me. :D 5I have never been so disappointed with a product.I was trying to replace a bulky shower chair that's now overkill for my purposes with something less burdensome. I have never been so disappointed with a product. The first time my daughter leaned over it collapsed. The legs are all splayed out and I can't fix it. I'm deathly afraid to sit on it, and I bought it so that I could. I'm on a very, very limited income and this bench was a total waste of resources.I followed directions and assembled it as tightly as it could be. I hate to think what would happen if a larger person (even half of the supposed weight limit) tried to sit on it.So disappointed with this. 1Safety Warning!I have had this chair since July 15. Having not taken baths n over 3 yrs, was pleasantly surprised how relaxing the chair made my shower! 1 mo later, legs started moving outward, inward, son readjusted. The product stated weight limit was 500 lbs.! Will I'm 250. Every shower legs need to b readjusted, screw is plastic, loosens more w each sitting. Aluminum legs bent in (2) out (2)! Totally unsafe. Like to see someone any heavier than me use it. Now my relaxing shower is stressful w fear of falling n shower! Suction on bottom of legs, does not work, as I have already a rough finish on floor to prevent potential falls. Wasn't cheap, Would NEVER purchase again! Looking for something that can do what seller says! Disappointed! 2Dangerous productDANGEROUS! I was excited to get this as I was hopeful it would provide more stability in the shower than a bamboo one that I had been using since I broke my leg a couple of weeks ago. Unit was easy to put togeather but first time use the legs started moving, now span of legs on one side is now 10 inches wider than other side. Very scary to be sitting in a shower that was collapsing. I am far far below the suggested weight tolerance of the product. 1Not safe for diabledThis stool is light weight and easy to put together. Unfortunately, it is the worst stool I have ever used. The legs twist as you sit and the whole stool leans as you move around to reach for shampoo or soap. Despite my misgivings, I allowed my disabled husband to try this once, and it twisted, so that he fell down in the bathtub. This is NOT safe for people with disabilities that are unable to move around by themselves or without help. This is also non-returnable, FYI. 1It is VERY poor quality and I almost fell in the shower and ...After my first use of this chair its legs had blended out of shape (keep in mind that I'm under the weight limit). I'm sending this back! 1Good for sitting in showerThis works well when used as a bench but the legs could be a little delicate due to their light weight aluminum construction. I would say that as long as you sit down on it without any lateral movement it will be fine, just make sure to tighten the bolts and then check on them regularly. I think people having issues with the legs bending or collapsing are attempting to use as a transfer type bench.Purchased for my wife following knee surgery and she has used 1 - 2 times per day for weeks with no issue. I've used it a few times just to test with a full size man on it and no issues at all with the legs but both of us just use it to sit on not to transfer.Legs show no signs of rust or other corrosion. 4If you are a big guy do not buyThe stand is rated at 400 pounds, I'm about 275 I put it together and first sat on it on a ceramic tile floor and it was fine. When I put it into the bathtub and water got under the legs, the legs started to bend. Very unstable.My son built an aluminum frame around the legs and now it's fine. 1Fits great in my teeny tiny bathtub.Fits great in my teeny tiny bathtub. I weigh in at just over 200lbs. This stated good for up to 400lbs right in the description, it eased my mind. I wouldn't want to use a product that was not made for people of size. This one Dr Kay's Adjustable Height Bath and Shower Seat Top Rated Shower Bench Brags about being a "best seller" and that it has legs that are longer than any other. But no where could I find how many lbs it was rated for. This one is just right for me. I'm recovering from long illness and cannot stand in the shower for long, much less get my bulk out of a small bathtub soaking slippery wet. This allows me comfort, convenience and safety all in one. 5Have had this chair 2 yearsI've had this Drive backless seat for 2 years with NO problems! A similar seat (different brand) collapsed under me and literally threw me out of the shower stall, so I was really wary of this one. But after 2 years of using it 3-4 x a week, it is still as sturdy as ever. I weigh 230 lbs. (Gosh, that's hard to put down in black and white!) and the chair is rated for 400 lbs. on a sticker on the leg. I check the legs often for rust, looseness, cracks and there are none of those issues with mine. If you look under the seat, it notes that there is a "rear" side to the seat and an arrow. There seems to be a slight difference in the leg placement for that, so I'm always sure to have the "rear" of the seat facing away from the faucet as I sit in the shower.When assembling, there is a particular way the legs are to be positioned before tightening with the large-ish plastic thumb screws -- at 72, even I could put this seat together easily. I really don't understand the complaints of collapsing legs unless something in the water causes these issues. My first seat which collapsed under me was being used with well water; the current one is city water. Who knows? But I am currently ordering a second of this same brand/style seat to be delivered to my daughter's home for my upcoming 6-week visit. Happy showerer here! 5
