BLOOD SUGAR CRASHI have reactive hypoglycemia and this gave me really really terrible blood sugar crashes. Holy cow, really terrible. If you are hypoglycemic I DO NOT advise using this. If you re not it may prove helpful. 1wish I could write an informed review but company doesn't return phone callsI have both MTHFR variants (homozygous for both 677 and 1298) and used to drink Dr. Ben Lynch's MTHFRade. But then I got sensitized to all the corn components of my medications and supplements. Of course D-Ribose is usually made from corn. So is citrate. After extensive searches I ordered this from amazon and had it sent overnight. I had called the Douglas Labs in Pittsburgh with my question, which was if it wasn't made from corn what WAS it made of? But they never called back. After drinking MTHFR ade made from this and some buffered vit.C from Britain (no corn, no citrate) and my usual electrolyte liquid, I ended up in the hospital, having lost 16lbs in 7 days from diarrhea. When I got out, I again called Douglas Labs, asked my question and was sent to someone's voicemail. No call back AGAIN. They CLAIM no corn, no wheat etc. but still no answer as to what it is made from. I'm so angry that I was sick enough to need an emergency colonoscopy from god knows what and my GI doc blames this. I have nothing to contradict her. Still no calls. Here I am, hung out to dry, LITERALLY, and cannot get the answer I need from a place as exotic as Pittsburgh. Don't buy unless you are as healthy as a horse. I need ATP desperately but can't even begin to look for a replacement since I'm not sure what exactly is in here that set me off....as usual Caveat Emptor. Now I have another $50 worth of garbage, since as far as I'm concerned it could be made from plaster.... 1It was recommended by my integrative medicine doctor to take 3xdayThis really seems to help with my energy level! Two years ago I had two very major surgeries nine months apart. Then I started catching all kinds of illnesses: RSV, Pertussis, a lung infection. No matter what I did, I was still getting sick and feeling very tired.In addition, I have gastroparesis. I decided to see a functional medic doctor in Integrative Medicine. She suggested I try CorvalenRibose. I find it expensive, however, the generic Ribose D did not have the same effect on me. I really wish it cameIn a larger more ecenomical size . 5Part of my daily aresenal for life to beat chronic fatigue.After going thru my first two tubs of this amazing stuff I ordered a less expensive brand that got decent reviews. Bad mistake. It didn't work. This is the stuff. It really helps my chronic fatigue. I will never be without it. And it tastes really good. I took it 3x a day for first month and then, per what I had read, I believe in Teitelbaum's book From Fatigued To Fantastic (great book, btw) I went down to 1x day with ok success. On days when my energy is crashing bad I go back to 3x, kinda okay it by ear. I feel it work immediately. I put it in my breakfast smoothie, in tea or just mix with water. It goes down super easy. 5Quality concernsI've ordered this a number of times in the past and been very happy with the product. However, the most recent container I received seems to have had quality issues. Very large, hard lumps in it that were impossible to "break", even with a knife. I did take a few doses and had stomach problems as well. I've returned it, and a bit nervous to reorder it. 2Fibromyalgia Relief!Excellent relief for fibromyalgia! This is one of the few supplements that I will never be without - it really does help with the aches and pains of fibromyalgia. I've tried different brands that were cheaper but I always come back to Douglas Labs. I use 1/2 tsp in my morning coffee.Great product, I highly recommend! 5Noticeable results in a short timeGood stuff! I read about this specific product in a magazine for nurse practicioners. I have chronic fatigue and thought this would be worth trying. Within the first week of taking it, I had more energy and was sleeping better. In reading other reviews I have to agree, if you have any issues with low blood sugar (or diabetes or are pregnant) don't use this product. I notice about an hour after I drink it I feel a little hungry, that must be the drop in blood sugar other reviewers are talking about. It's temporary, lasting only about a half hour or so.My second order didn't come in before I ran out, so I only took 1 dose for 3 days. Day 3 I woke up with a migraine. Not sure if this is related or not. There is a noticeable difference in how I feel taking 2 doses a day.I wondered if this product was a gimmick, so I googled it. NIH has an article describing a study done on patients with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. The results were favorable if you are bit of a skeptic.Since starting D-Ribose, I've started walking my dog every day. With chronic fatigue I go through phases of needing to nap every day after work. I could be on an upswing, it could be the ribose. I will post again in a month or 2 and let you know if it's still working. 4
