It's important to keep his "good" ear clear of wax, and he's had the wax removed at the doctor's office a couple of times. This Elephant Ear Basin is shaped just like the one they used at the doctor's office, and I found an Ear Wax Removal Syringe on amazon.com, so I purchased both.The Basin is a little smaller and quite a bit lighter than the one at the doctor's office, but it is perfectly adequate for catching the flow from the ear while using the syringe. Another reviewer complained that you need two hands to hold it. I just have my husband hold it while I operate the syringe, and it works just fine. I'm quite satisfied with this purchase. 5I finally lined up all the right array of tools and this was a great addition. In factI had gradually lost the hearing in my left ear due to a buildup of wax. In fact, it did a perfect job of capturing all the liquid and solid matter that I flushed from the ear and kept it from going onto the floor or down my neck.
