Cream of Rice suits me well....I have been searching in stores with no luck!I have loved Cream of Rice for years and have been searching for it in the stores forever with no luck. I decided to look on Amazon and low and behold, there it was. I just love it for breakfast with butter, sugar and milk. It fills me up and yet I don't have the bloated feeling I sometimes have with wheat cereals. I have had ileostomy surgery and this product is wonderful for me in that regard as well. I am so glad I found it again after years of doing without. I tried putting dry rice in a mill to grind it, but it sure is a lot less work getting it pre-ground this way. It works well as a binder for meatloaf and also as a thickener for soups!5yumi love this stuff. add some molassis, your good. yum.... so good. maybe ill make some now, a good midnight snack, right?5Tracked it down at last!No store in my locale carries this. This is a lovely hot cereal for a winter's day! Although I try to "buy local," my conscience is clear on this purchase. Arrived well-packed and as far as I can tell-fresh. They seem to be course, this has a very smooth texture when cooked.Thank you again.5LOVE this as a healthy warm alternative to cold cereals!I've always cooked a hot breakfast for my kids during the school year. I alternate this with other hot cereals, but this and steel cut oats are my favorite. LOVE that it cooks up fast. It's much easier to make on the stove top than the microwave. Microwave actually takes longer to make and doesn't turn out as smooth. Cooks Illustrated suggested for other hot cereal something I use for this: add, dab of butter, cinnamon (Vietnamese is best. It's like the old cinnamon sugar we used to get in the yellow bears), pinch of nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. I top with brown sugar and yellow raisins. They love it if you set out a few toppings they can pick to add. Some of the kids like a little half-and-half around the edges. It's really good and they say it keeps them full till lunch. Can't prove it but I swear making meals for them, and no snacks, keeps them more thin. Have 8 adopted kids and not one was overweight and I use real butter, milk and eggs, in 2-3 hot meals/day.5Best for digestive problemsCream of Rice cereal is my go to cereal when I'm having digestive problems. It does not irritate my stomach or intestines, is the best comfort food I know of. I use either soy milk or milk, and some honey for a sweetener. It's just great. I eat it every day and am so glad to find it on Amazon, since my local stores are not stocking it anymore. I can't figure this out, given the current gluten warnings, but Cream of Rice is a gluten-free food which is good for you and tastes good. What could be better?5Love this stuff!Odd that you cannot find it anymore in stores. Anyhow, I just love this because it reminds me of my childhood and it's just a simple breakfast with versatility - mix in some fresh fruit, or with a dab of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon (my personal favorite). It tastes so much better to me than cream of wheat. I also ordered from Amazon when I saw it there. I was talking to a friend of mine who's husband was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and I thought this would be something he could easily eat. Plus, I am sure it's perfect for babies even though I enjoy it so much myself.5
