Excellent brace for TendinosisI thought this was a very expensive ankle brace when I ordered it. It turned out to be reasonably priced for what I received. It fits well, gives good support for people suffering with tendinosis, and includes tools to help you slip the brace on.I have been wearing this every day for two months. I hope it lasts all the way through my healing process. I would buy this again but I am hoping this lasts until I am better. 4The only issue I have with this is that I ...The only issue I have with this is that I was looking for the one for the right foot. I have worn this on my right foot, but it never felt quite right (excuse the pun). I recently looked at the tag inside and it says it's for the left foot. Oh well. Main thing is it does help pad my Achilles Tendon which has been torn for over a year. 4Expensive but worth it - much cheaper than medical bills!This has helped with my Achilles tendinitis. I had one of those supports a few years ago with a sports injury, but had worn it out. My Achilles tendon has been hurting again for the past two years. Finally I remembered this product and bought a new one. I noticed less pain very quickly. After using this combined with an ice pack and resting the tendon, I am seeing significant improvement. After wearing it every day for a couple of months, I am now only using a heel pad in my shoe. 5If you are struggling with Achilles tendinitis this sock is ...If you are struggling with Achilles tendinitis this sock is a must have, even at the price. I have been able to continue playing tennis daily and my tendinitis has continued to heal. I plan to purchase a Bauerfeind knee brace as well. Don't be afraid to shoot the lock off your wallet for this product.. it's worth it. 5Expensive but effectiveTore my Achilles in March. I bought this 4 months after recommended by my surgeon. Its not verified with workers comp. Its an out of pocket expense. My foot is larger so paid $120 ouch. Works very well. The gel pads kept constant pressure on the swollen area without applying pressure on the suture and gave me a relief on my heal with padding. Only negative is its expensive but effective. And the elasticity at the top is top large should have a much smaller opening. 4HelpfulVery helpful for ankle and heel issues. Mostly use it to walk around house without shoes. My only issue is the sizing. I first purchased about a year ago in size 5 based on the size chart. It was so loose it was useless. Because it's so expensive, I waited a long time to try again. The four is much better but still not really snug. If it fit better I'd have given 5 stars, even at this price. 4Nice product but poor valueI have used this to support the foot with an achilles tendon strain. It has a built-in heel lift pad. It has enclosed rubber "supports" along the back of the ankle. It is very well made. But it doesn't provide much real support for the ankle. You could get about the same thing by using a gel heel lift pad and a fairly tight sock or a thin elastic bandage wrap or tape around the ankle. For about 10% of the cost. So while it is a fine product, I'd expect to pay about 25-30% of the 3 digit price. 3Not much of a braceExtremely disappointing. This item is like putting on a tight sock with a gel cushion for protection of the back of the heel. It offers no support or bracing. It does not limit movement like I thought it would. If you are looking for mild support of the achillies tendon, I had better luck with KT tape and was much more comfortable. This is way to expensive for what it does. 1A worthwhile investmentI ruptured my left achilles tendon approximately two and a half years ago playing softball. It was a dreadful injury that sidelined me for almost a year from all sports related activities. I never want to go through it again.Recently, my right achilles began to hurt after softball games and I started to panic. I remember my left achilles feeling the same way in the months leading up to the rupture, and I feared I would be looking at another surgery if I continued playing without addressing the issue. I've been wearing an ankle brace on the right foot as a precaution but the area still hurt with the tendinitis. I didn't want to give up softball as I get enjoyment out of the game and it keeps me active, so I started looking at support braces which are specifically designed to support the achilles.I was most worried this particular brace was going to end up being too tight or too loose (based on some of the other reviews here), but it fit perfectly and gave me more confidence as soon as I put it on. I can only guess the people who have been complaining didn't go to the manufacturer's Web site [...] to see how to correctly measure to choose the appropriate size. You need to measure the circumference of your ankle ABOVE the lateral malleolus (the "knob" on the outside of your ankle) and compare it to the chart on the manufacturer's Web site to choose the correct size.I've worn the brace now for two softball outings and the tendon soreness I was experiencing after the games has virtually disappeared. It is well worth the money if it keeps me playing and away from the operating table. Trust me, a hundred dollar investment is chump change compared to the misery of dealing with a rupture and the long recovery period after surgery.UPDATE 1/11/14: I was so happy with this product that I asked for another one for my left ankle (the one that was originally ruptured) for Christmas. I now wear these braces on BOTH ankles when I play softball and it has made all the difference in the world. I'm 44 and I thought I couldn't run anymore. Now, I run again like I'm in my 20's with no more trepidation that I'm going to "blow a tire". Can't say enough about how these braces have helped me. 5The support fit fine in my sneakerI think it actually made my injured achilles heel hurt more. The support fit fine in my sneaker, but I felt a little lopsided. It felt like it was forcing my foot inward when I walked, which just caused more issues. I tried to adjust it to make it "straight" but I couldn't get it to feel normal. It felt like my heel was in the center of the heel pad, but I still felt wobbly. I wore it while working, which for me is a lot of walking and climbing stairs, and at the end of the day I didn't feel much relief as compared to not wearing it. 1
