For Price and Quality, an Excellent PastaWe often make our own pasta. But when we're pressed for time, it's nice to have a few boxes of Barilla on hand. You can spend more for pasta, but any of the shapes from this company are very good.5Best Pasta In a Box!Great value and reasonable price for home delivery. Will buy again when the unit cost drops below a buck per box!5Great pasta...I love just having these delivered and getting a case at a time!! We go through a lot of of pasta in our family.. Ronzoni tastes great and cold up perfect everytime...5This review will likely not make you buy this pasta but price might.When we lived on the east coast it was Prince (remember the line Tuesday is Prince spaghetti day) or Ronzoni but when we moved west in the late 90 s they weren t available in many sizes & shapes so we tried many others and settled on Barilla. Since the taste is pretty uniform we buy it based on the shape and there s plenty to choose from and the flavor seems to be always consistent. Local prices vary widely and the food stores are about 40-miles away so we only shop once a month but when I can find it for a buck a box, or less, getting it delivered is a much better alternative. We have at least one box a week and often two during the summers for cold salads mid-week. It s a straight pasta on Monday with a red or white sauce (Angle Hair, Thin or Spaghetti), Linguine when we have Cincinnati Chile and a shape for the cold salads (Penne, Rotini, Shells or Elbows) and the occasional Bow-Tie for soups. Not that anyone should care much about what we eat we do so because we ve never had a disappointment with it and we don t have to rinse it if eating it hot we just add some salt and olive oil to the water before adding the pasta and it has never had a starchy taste but it will stick if we don t add some sauce to the pot or a little more olive oil. Using it for cold salads does require rinsing it. No complaints with this product in any size or shape and at about a buck forty in the stores buying by the case, getting a discount and free shipping is a no-brainer for us.5Good Pasta but Poor PackagingThe product is good overall; however, there are two packaging issues:1) The individual boxes are not sufficiently sealed to prevent pasta crumbs from falling through the cracks of unopened individual boxes.2) In my latest shipment, the larger box that encloses the twelve individual boxes had a space at the bottom of the box that results because the lids were not sufficiently-large to touch each other. As a result, Tape was used to span the gap. The adhesive of the tape, facing inward into the box, stuck to the bottom of some of the smaller individual boxes inside. When removing these smaller boxes, the stuck tape ripped open the bottom of some of these smaller individual boxes, exposing the pasta and requiring me to handle them carefully so that the pasta would not spill out.3very convenientnever thought to buy pasta in bulk, but it's SO perfect. i used so get so annoyed when i'd have to run to the closest store to buy pasta but now i dont need to do that anymore. it's the best. love it!5Tastes good, convenient shapeThis is pasta, in a rotini shape as advertised. Nothing particularly special. I like this shape for ease of eating (don't need to wind up long strings like spaghetti) and surface area for holding sauce/oil/etc.5Barilla is the BestMy family loves Barilla pasta the best, but I usually buy store brands since they're cheaper. But I got a case of this at a great price, about the same as regular store brand cost, so that's a great deal. I love Barilla and it cooks relatively quickly too.5Lotsa Pasta!Good price, fast shipping, excellent packaging. Now I have pasta on hand without having to go to the store all the time. I make pasta in the microwave, easy for a quick meal. I will reorder when needed.5Better price than the local grocerI like the price and use a lot of pasta in cooking. Barilla is always the best tasting, least sticky and has become my only choice in pasta.And the price in bulk is better than the local grocery store!5
