My friend gave me a scoop of this and I followed the directions on the package and made a batch of refrigerator pickles with it. The directions say to let them stand for 3 weeks for the best flavor, we started digging into them after just 2 days. They are perfect. Crisp, dill, delicious. We've eaten 3 jars in a few days time. Getting ready for this weekend, getting more pickles so I needed my own full container and I could not find at the grocery store, though they had plenty of other Ball products. I will buy this again and again. Anyone can make perfect pickles with this product. If you have never made pickles before and are on the fence, do it. Extremely easy to do and they turned out great! 5Over pricedThe product which is sought after due to no production by Ball was twice the price, I bought because I needed it. It was a solid block when t arrived. I know it has lots of salt, but I ve never had that before with this product. It must have been old. 1Great stuff!Love this mix. I've been using it for years and have never been disappointed. I have tried other popular brands, but they just don't taste as good. For added flavor I add half a jalapeno to each jar to give the pickles a little kick. 5First timerMy pickles are that of a first timer, a little brownish. bu, they are still crisp. I did a huge batch in a gallon jar. I did have the misconception that this what an additive; in addition to pickling salt (before I actually had the product in hand), so the 4 lbs of pickling salt definitely wasn't needed. 4Decent, but very saltyMuch better spices/flavor than Mrs. Wages Kosher Dill mix, but a bit of a hassle having to boil the mix it in vinegar.. stinks up the whole house. And the pickles have good flavor once done, but are very salty (too salty for me). I've moved on to a simple brine/garlic pickling solution (my wife is now happier that the whole house does not smell like vinegar/pickles :) 3DeliciousThere is nothing to dislike here I love this pickling salt. I added 2 small cloves of crushed garlic to each batch, as I really love my pickles garlicky. Family and friends raved over the pickles so much, I planted an extra cucumber plant just to make more. Already did 4 refrigerator and 6 canned this summer. Time to order more! 5
