Do you bleed black? The Best Coffee in the WorldI don't do a lot of reviews... but after seeing some of the stupid one star reviews, I definitely had to throw one in. I've seen a few one stars because people were sent the wrong product; I've ordered more than a dozen times... (both directly from DWC and from Amazon) and I have never had a problem (I bet a few of them ordered the wrong thing to begin with... yep, that comes from my customer service background). Every time I order, I receive my coffee within 2 days. As far as taste goes, Valhalla Java is the greatest coffee that's ever come out of my Keurig. I don't know how to describe it except that it has a ton of "coffee" flavor without being bitter. I love strong coffee with extra cream and extra sugar (so, I guess I bleed tan rather than black); most coffee made in Keurigs winds up tasting deluded after I destroy it with my cream and sugar, but Valhalla pulls thru. I've also seen some bad reviews around the "regular" Death Wish Coffee... claiming that it isn't very strong; Freaking DWC never claims to be "strong" tasting... only highly caffeinated, which it is (read a description!). When I'm trying to cut back on the cream and sugar, this is my go to coffee... heck, I've even made it my dad's favorite coffee. And for those folks who gave it 1 star for not working in the new Keurigs... 1. They never said that it would, and 2. that's Keurig's fault for not wanting us to use non K-cups in our machines. Well, they do in fact now work in the new Keurigs and there was an easy work around to get the older cups to work. I was able to walk my dad through it over the phone. I definitely recommend that you give this coffee a try... it is a little expensive and that' why it is my "Saturday and Sunday" coffee only, but it's worth the money and the DWC company folks are a cool lot.5Worth drinking, but the cost premium is hard to justifyIntrigued by the Superbowl advertisement, and ordered it immediately. Was able to get it in under 24 hours. Preference after an initial cup of each type is the Valhalla, but the Death Wish ain't bad. In order to keep the caffeine intake down a bit, I set my Keurig to the 6.5 ounce dosage, versus my usage 8.5 ounce (I drink two cups of coffee daily, separated by about three hours). Noticed that it take the water longer to seep through the company's K-Cup design, which I would think creates a stronger brew. Also felt like I needed to use about a third more sweetener, in order to achieve the taste I expect.Overall a good to very good coffee varietal. I don't expect to use it in high rotation (I have five other K-Cup coffees I shuffle around) due to the extraordinary caffeine content, but on days I need a super buzz, it will get consumed. It is worth some level of premium price vs. (as a benchmark) the roughly 80 cents for a Starbucks K-Cup, but not anywhere near twice the cost. I fully support fair trade and independent brewers, but like any food or beverage, it has to justify the premium cost with a truly superior tasting product.4I hate that this stuff is so good.So let me start off my stating that I consume a fairly large amount of caffeine on a daily basis be it 3 cups of coffee with usually an energy drink somewhere in the day.I originally bought the death wish coffee after my friend Brewed me a cup of death wish from their ground coffee. It made me feel like the first time I had an energy drink. I felt it in my chest and I instantly was wired. I immediately got on my phone and bought some k cups for the Keruig. The cups were gone within a week and I needed more.I bought this pack as it had good reviews and I loved true death wish so thought why not. Once I tried the other flavor I instantly fell in love with this brand. At this point I will have to buy this stuff every once in a while as the price is just a little to high for my daily drink but I really wish it was a little cheaper.Overall best coffee I've ever had and will be recommending this stuff strongly.5Very smooth without the bitterness!!!I bought this mainly for my partner who likes strong coffee. I prefer mine more on the weaker side, however I tried the Valhalla and found it strong but very smooth tasting without the bitterness, which is what usually turns me against strong coffee. The way these k-cups are made, with mesh sides instead of being enclosed in plastic, made it come out of the Keurig somewhat slower (almost reminded me more of the way a drip coffee maker works or when one makes their own K-cups by putting ones own ground coffee inside of the reusable K-cup coffee filters). I also noticed that it didn't produce the usual amount of coffee in my cup (maybe an ounce less - I selected the 8 oz. serving size originally and ended up adding another 6 oz. to make a full mug of coffee), I assume this was from the grounds soaking up and absorbing more water than a traditional K-cup, yet giving this coffee more of that rich fresh brewed taste. Even though the price is a little steep, I will most likely purchase more of this again in the future.5Don t get dazed or confusedWell, this caffeine junkie thought I had ordered just 20 K cups of the Death WIsh Coffee. I guess I was hurting for the strongest stuff on the market. Anyways, I was disturbed at first when I opened the box to see the other Valhalla coffee in there with the Death Wish. I opened that box to see the foil wrapper and was thinking I had been slipped whole bean coffee. When I used some scissors to open the foil.... that AMAZING strong fresh aroma hit my nostrils and I was in love!! I set my Keurig for strong 8 oz and took a swig. Very smooth and not overpowering. I was pleasantly surprised; which does not happen that often. I highly recommend to give this order a whirl.5Coffee of the ValkriesI did wonder about the safety of drinking a coffee named "Death Wish", and that even after I had researched it, knowing it was one of the strongest caffeine per ml coffees on the face of the earth. Nevertheless, I took the plunge and drank the brown liquid down. The result? A good solid day of energy without needing to refuel. It is too acidic for me, however, and I strongly prefer the Valhalla Java. It works the same as the Death Wish, and it tastes markedly better. (Yes, I know you can add creamer to coffee and I always do this.)The packaging is superior. I enjoyed the large resealable bags the coffees came in, and no problem with the Kuerig format. The Kureig leaves a hole directly in the center of the Valhalla Java and a hole almost in the eye socket of the skull for the Death Wish (yes, I'm anal and I notice these things). The metal picture on the Valhalla Java bag fits and the mock-serious language on the back was hilarious.In short, quality packaging and a great product. Four stars only because of the taste of the Death Wish.4Supercharged and Tasty CoffeeAwesome coffee. When I first came across this coffee I figured it was just a novelty. Who doesn't want max caffeine Death Cups and Odin Cups?! Anyways, due to the reviews I actually had very high expectations after ordering, and I can say both live up to the hype. Very good coffee. A nice bold even flavor. I do like the occasional Dunkin cup of coffee, but it seems like their coffee is inconsistent and sometimes a little too bitter (some people love that so please don't take that as a negative).The coffee comes in fresh resealable packaging since the K Cups are recyclable. What sets these apart from other recyclable/compostable K Cups is that the mesh filter is on the sides and plastic on the bottom of the cup. With the others I have had, the whole cup part of the pod is mesh, which leads to a lot of grounds getting into the cup.I will definitely be buying more!!5really tastyI liked the Death Wish more than the Valhalla. I don't know about strongest coffee because caffeine doesn't seem to affect me. Both coffees were very flavorful without any bitterness. The Death Wish seemed smoother. The only drawback is cost since they are about twice the price of other k-cups. Thanks guys.5Caffeine, yes. Taste? It depends...I first heard about Death Wish through various social media outlets. Being a coffee and caffeine fiend, the high caffeine content caught my attention. I ordered these for my Keurig 2.0 brewer.First, let's get the obvious question out of the way. Do these really pack the caffeine punch that everybody says that they do? Yeah, they hit the mark on that one. I normally drink an obscene amount of coffee, and so I'm caffeinated at all hours of the day, but even with that, I noticed that I felt a bit more wired on Death Wish. So, good job on that.As for its quality as a drinking coffee, that's where things fall apart. Death Wish is good as a "I need to wake the **** up now" kind of coffee. I found the mouth feel and flavors to be not to my liking. I wouldn't say unpleasant, but it certainly doesn't make me say "Yum, let me get some more of this." The Valhalla Java tasted *much* better. It still wouldn't be my preferred cup, but I enjoy variety and so I'm sure this will find its way into my brewer on occasion. All were tested on different brew sizes, both with and without the "strong" option on my brewer.It's clear that these guys care about their coffee. While these maybe weren't the right ones for me, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what else the company comes up with. Always good to see a small roaster getting some press.3
